Hailing from the beaches of Alabama, Melissa Joiner has been submersed in music since birth. Her diverse style, creative use of formal opera training, and Mississippi Delta blues influence, has created a unique sound that makes her a standout. She is the co-founder and co-producer of the Gulf Coast Songwriter Shootout, founder and executive producer of the Songs that Save Concert Series, and now spends most of her time playing shows and festivals all over the U.S. and abroad. Melissa has recently had a number one song in Norway, and her songs can be heard in several other countries as well as in the U.S. on several radio stations. You can find a performance of her first live album on PBS’s Studio Amped. After spending three months playing in Australia, New Zealand, and surrounding countries, Melissa spread her wings, and has been touring and sharing her music in as many new places as possible. In 2019 Melissa joiner joined forces with Michigan native Mark Brook to create a new project called Transit Soul.
